Muscat Hills Golf & Country Club
Golf Course Overview:
Muscat Hills Golf & Country Club is the first of its kind in the region and will be the ‘home of golf’ in Oman.
Built by Southern Golf Oman to the very highest international standards; Southern Golf has built over 150 golf courses around the world often used for PGA Tour events.
Muscat Hills is the first 18 hole championship grass course in the country, where Golf course and Clubhouse operations and standards are being set up by Paul Dellanzo, one of the true legends of the private club industry worldwide.
The unique proposition about the golf course rests within the course design and the fact that it is built over natural contours of the Omani Wadi’s and the backdrop of the Hajar Mountains.
Muscat Hills has been carefully crafted by the internationally acclaimed golf course designer, Paul Thomas of Dave Thomas associates, whose portfolio includes La Manga West (Spain), Seve Ballesteros Golf Club and the Top Players Golf Club (Japan).
The golf course is surrounded by mountains that promote challenging gentle undulating fairways, greens that require accurate approach shots and ever present natural wadis that run adjacent to a number of holes. This special topography is what makes Muscat Hills a spectacular and exciting golfing experience.
Muscat will have a permanent clubhouse and Hotel on the golf estate.
Please note the golf course is closed for play on Mondays for maintenance.
As one of the fastest growing tourist hubs in the Arabian Peninsula, Oman offers pristine beaches, picturesque mountains and endless blue skies. Wherever you look, you are faced with a fusion of local heritage that combines the modern with the historical. Almouj Golf adds to the Sultanate’s attractions and positions the country as a growing destination for worldwide golfers.
Along a six-kilometer stretch of natural beach, flanking the Indian Ocean and at the foot of the stunning Hajar mountain range, lies a striking oasis of lush green grass, peppered with bunkers, water hazards and natural dunes. In designing the course, Greg Norman has embraced the diversity of Oman’s topography in every hole. At 7,342 yards long, the 18 hole Championship Course at Almouj Golf is Oman’s first links style course offering amateurs and professionals a challenging, yet rewarding, game of golf.
Typical Omani hospitality is evident throughout and a warm welcome greets everyone who visits Almouj Golf. Complementing the Championship Course are world-class facilities including a teaching academy, a floodlit par-3 nine-hole course, Academy retail shop, floodlit driving range and restaurant.
