Ras al Jinz Scientific and Visitors Centre

The Carapace Lodge, opened in early 2009, with 14 well appointed rooms, allowing visitors to the green turtle nesting area the ability to stay close to the beach in comfortable accommodation. The rooms are simple; however there is very limited choice in the area. Additionally, by staying within the nesting area, it is more convenient for guests to visit the beach before dawn, when the turtles are often at their most active.

Rooms:
10 air-conditioned twin/double en-suite rooms on the first floor of the Centre equipped with mini refrigerator and LCD televisions. 2 air-conditioned bunk bedded en-suite rooms on the ground floor with mini refrigerator are available for families/ small groups. The centre also has 2 rooms for the guides.

Restaurant:

40 Seaters restaurant called “SAMBUK” is located on the ground floor, adjacent to a small coffee counter, providing a small coffee shop style menu and a set three course dinner menu.

Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner Dinner is available in the restaurant, usually a set menu. An all-day dining menu is also available.

Gift shop:
There is a gift shop which has a number of local handicraft items, pictures, postcards, books and Ras AI Jinz branded items.

Activities:
Guided turtle viewing excursions at night, when the green turtles come to the beach to nest. Early morning guided tours are available ( please check availability).

Beach access between 8.00am to 1.30pm
