Oman Holiday Itinerary
DAY 01
Overnight Oman Air non-stop service to Muscat.
DAY 02
Early Morning arrival in Muscat.
Private transfer to either the Shangri La Al Bandar or Chedi Hotel (Please enquire about supplements for Al Bustan Palace and Shangri La Al Husn Hotels).
DAY 03
Muscat city tour to include: the Grand Mosque, Bait al Zubair Museum and Muttrah Souq (car and driver provided).
DAY 04
Set off on the tour, driving through the date palms to the sparkling springs and Fort at Nakhl. Turn towards Wadi Bani Auf; this stretch of graded road is full of steep bends and bumpy roads! Visit the charming mountain village of Bilad Sayt, where one is awestruck by the beauty of the landscape. We have a short walk in the Bilad Sayt village, an idea spot for a picnic! The 70 kilometer stretch of road continues unto the village of Al Hamra, famous for its date plantations.

Supper and overnight accommodation at ‘The View’.
‘The View’ is located in the Jebal Akhdar Mountains, at Hail al Shas, nestling 8 kilometers up in the mountains. The accommodation is very comfortable, offering wonderful panoramic views of the villages of Al Hamra, Bilad Seit and Bahla.
DAY 05
After breakfast, set off to visit Jabrin, the finest of Oman’s Castles built in the late 17th century. The Castle displays the highest achievement in Omani ceiling painting and beautifully executed woodcarvings. After a brief stop at Bahla Fort, head for Jebel Shams stop at the terrace farming village of Wadi Ghul. Drive to Wadi Nakher. In the Jebel Akhdar range Jebel Shams is the highest peak, offering spectacular views.
The countryside offers a rugged terrain, trekking is by far the best way to enjoy Oman’s spectacular mountain landscape with a specialist guide.
Return to ‘The View’, and relax for the reminder of the day.

DAY 06
Set off for the Round Tower Fort in Nizwa, built in the 17th century, and Souq renown for its Friday animal auction, intricately hand-carved “Khanjars” (daggers) and ornamental silver jewellery. Proceed in an easterly direction for Sur, via Izki, Sinaw souk and Mudhaybi, arriving at the Wahiba Sands, a vast mass of undulating copper coloured sand dunes rising up to 200 meters. Picnic lunch provided en route.
Check in at the Desert Nights Resort.
Set off for a sunset camel safari around the resort (Light refreshments included).
Supper and overnight accommodation at the Desert Nights camp.
DAY 07
Proceed to Ibra market, where local people shop, on to Wadi Naam. Start the ascent on an off-road track that winds through the mountains providing some very spectacular sights. Picnic on the way to the Beehive tombs, said to be more than 4000 years old! On to the Salmah plateau, the location of the Majlis Al Jinn, the second largest cave chamber in the world. The caves are only accessible to experienced rock climbers. Start the steep descent towards the coast, on a road full of hairpin bends. Stop off for a swim at Wadi Arbayeen, on the way back to Muscat.
